Equipment Sales Manager – the Carolinas - USA

About the position:

As Equipment Sales Manager you are responsible for designing and generating sales leads and setting short and long-term sales strategies. You will provide ongoing effective training and support to our existing accounts with a keen ability to utilize existing relationships and cultivate new opportunities from these connections.

That sounds like a challenging job, but what are your responsibilities?

You will:

  • Arrange appointments and deliver effective presentations with physicians, clinicians, and hospital medical teams to demonstrate our EVA unit’s capabilities.
  • Exhibit a confident composed demeanor while partnering with the surgical team of physicians, nurses and practice staff in the operating room as the expert trainer in the use of our medical unit throughout surgical procedures.
  • Maintain proficiencies in surgical technique and equipment function while interacting and training with clinicians.
  • Lead the installation and set-up of equipment and evaluations with the assistance of the Territory Manager as needed.
  • Attend medical conferences/trade fairs.
  • Negotiate contract pricing and new sale pricing with accounts.
  • Gather, analyze and deliver information from the field to allow the company to develop strategies related to sales and quality; stay informed about the activities of Ophthalmic services.
  • Coordinate all issues with key clients between sales, service, support, customer service, marketing and finance.
  • Generate/maintain an annual business plan implementing innovative and proven sales techniques; provide monthly activity reports to the Sales Director.
  • Achieve and exceed business plan budgets.
  • Retain and protect the assigned account from competitors by delivering the highest level of customer service while onsite.

About you:

  • You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in medical device sales, preferably in ophthalmology. If you have experience in an operating room, that’s a big plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, complemented with HIPPA training, Aseptic Technique Training, Fire Safety Training, Bloodborne Pathogens Training and Operating Room Protocol Training.
  • You are responsible for North and South Carolina and the surrounding area. This position requires up to 75% overnight travel. You will frequently travel outside the local area and may require multiple successive overnight stays. Required to attend inter-company training and meetings.
  • You are an entrepreneurial sales expert with the ability to hunt for new business, successful at consistently and proactively generating and closing sales leads and have excellent vitreoretinal clinical and technical skills. Seeking a highly organized, self-motivated, customer focused and result driven individual.

The employee is frequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employees will spend extended periods of time standing.
