Sales & Application Manager South Korea

We are currently seeking a Sales & Application Manager for the South Korean market.

The Sales & Application Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth within the assigned territory, achieving product mix and profitability targets. Working closely with the Regional Sales Director APAC, the role involves managing both existing and prospective distributors to ensure an in-depth understanding of the local market. The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of winning strategies, ensure comprehensive product knowledge, deliver regular training sessions, and support product demonstrations through joint customer visits.

As the key point of contact for D.O.R.C. in the region, the Sales & Application Manager will also handle the escalation and resolution of commercial, regulatory, quality, and technical issues.

Main responsibilities:

  • Understand operating room protocols and surgical health and safety procedures.
  • Demonstrate expertise in all D.O.R.C. products during surgical procedures, training sessions, co-visits, and congresses.
  • Support and advise surgeons on the use of D.O.R.C. products; attend key account surgeries as directed by the Regional Sales Director.
  • Manage and support the performance of the distributor sales and application team within the territory, in collaboration with the Regional Sales Director.
  • Achieve sales targets through relationship building, follow-up on quotations, handling of special requests, and tender management.
  • Provide regular reports on activities and performance metrics.
  • Collect, analyse, and share relevant market intelligence, including competitor activity, customer feedback, and product insights.
  • Identify risks and opportunities within the market and implement corresponding strategies and action plans.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the region.
  • Organise and participate in key congresses, including pre-event planning and post-event follow-up.
  • Ensure all D.O.R.C. activities comply with local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure distributor adherence to D.O.R.C.’s:
    • Guidelines and standards of conduct;
    • Product knowledge and marketing strategies;
    • Application support and after-sales service protocols.
  • Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs for product registrations, incident reporting, and recall activities where necessary.

 Skills, knowledge and experience:

  • 5–8 years’ relevant experience in ophthalmology.
  • Hands-on experience in an operating room environment is essential.
  • Experience within the ophthalmic surgical field.
  • Previous experience in sales and managing indirect sales channels is preferred.
  • Fluency in Korean and English is mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the territory.
  • Strong self-management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and present products and strategies in an engaging and persuasive manner.
  • Strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills across all levels.
  • Team player with a high level of integrity.
  • Strong technical and clinical understanding.
  • A degree in Business or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • A background as a MedTech engineer or nurse is considered a plus.
